The first time you go camping no matter what your age you are bound by the virtues of mother nature to make mistakes. You will become an experienced camper by trial and error only.If you don’t just jump in an try you will never experience the joy of sleeping with mother nature. On your first camping trip you need to pay attention to what you are packing for the trip. Some first timers pack like they are moving away for a month or  two, and some forget some of the most needed equipment. After you sit down a couple of days ahead of time and make a list of everything that you want to take with you,you still have to be sure that you have the campsite that is suitable for you and your family.

When you are researching for your camp site you need to take in to consideration  the weather, the terrain and how many miles to have to travel. You will realize that you can’t just pound your tent stakes into the just any place. You need to look for an area that is more less secluded .Maybe it would be under a group of trees or perhaps an over hanging rock. You need to pitch your where the wind will not be blowing directly into it.You need to set up your camp around the trees or the over hang in such a mabber that your supplies won’t be blown away.

When choosing a sleeping bag you will need to take into consideration where you will be using the sleeping bag and what the temperature range is where you will be camping. After all the sleeping bags are supposed to designed to keep you warm as well as protect you from the elements. You are going camping to enjoy yourself and “get out of dodge” for a few days.If you are cold and uncomfortable during the night in a sleeping bag that doesn’t keep you warm and safe it will ruin your whole trip. They have ratings on the sleeping bags that will tell you what temperature it will keep you warm to.In other words if you buy a sleeping bag that  says 20 degrees on it that means it will keep you warm down to that temperature. You will enjoy your camping trip a lot more if you have the correct equipment. You don’t have to break the bank buying camping equipment because there great camping supplies out there that is very reasonably priced.

There are certain items that should be in with your camping gear that you keep in the garage or your storage shed.If you store these items together  you won’t need to search for anything on your second camping trip. You will have learned from the first camping trip exactly what you will need for a great camping trip. You will need back packs for all members of your family, small ones for the kids & larger one for the adults. The same is true for the sleeping bags, individual  ones for each person. You will need a tent large enough for the entire family,or you can have smaller tents for the kid to sleep in.You also should take your jackets, extra socks, underwear, boots,A small first aid kit, pocket knife,a compass,or it todays world a a GPS.Don’t forget your food and the cookware and water. You need to but expensive cookware for your first camping trip either.Go thru your cupboards and you would be surprised at the cookware you have that you never use.
